I have created a personal website using New GoogleSites, however I have a major trouble getting it appear in the Google Search.
I added the website to the Google Index, but: 1) I can't upload a sitemap because Google only supports xml sitemaps, and New GoogelSites do not generate xml sitemaps; 2) on the Console it says that "We do not detect any structured data on your site.", but I don't know how to add it; 3) I use "Fetch Google" and I get that it is redirected; I have requested indexing, but I am not sure it it works, because I checked again, and it is still redirected.
I have a pretty unique name, so when I google it, normally only the relevant links appear, so this is not the problem. When I google my name the personal website does not appear at all (not even on the 3rd page). And when I google the address of the website, it shows the website address, but in the 2 lines that are shown in the search it is like "Lorem Epsom blah-blah..", i.e. it does not show the real context of the website.
Overall, I am feeling a bit deceived with using New GoogleSites, because it seems to me that I can't really make it appear in the search. I checked several sites with the advice on how to make your site appear in the search, but, given the restrictions on the New Google Sites, this advice does not seem applicable (I have already added the link to my page in Twitter and Facebook, but does not look like it makes the difference). Thus I was wondering, what should I do to have my website appear in the search? And does it make sense to pay for Google AdWords to get my website appear at the top of the search (in this case I really just need my name, not other words)?
Thank you in advance for response!
